Chemo - Week 18

March 31 Update:

Isaac's blood counts were really good this week!! So he had his 3rd treatment at Blanks. He already loves everyone there, and so does this mom. The staff here are so caring and kind. Isaac knows a few of them by name already. 😊  this appointment went great and there were no tears or fuss.

Today, Isaac was given this cool superhero cape.  This is so fitting because he loves superheros and he is such a little fighter.

Chemo - week 17

March 24th Update:

Isaac did so great at his 17th chemo. Even though he just met everyone at Blanks last week he seemed to remember and was very friendly to them.

He continues to go get his blood checked twice a week and thus far seems to be adjusting to DesMoines well.

Chemo - Week 16 (Blank's Children's)

March 17th Update:

Isaac had his first chemo visit at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines this Thursday. It went well overall but there are some differences that we'll have to get use to (not really bad just different than what we are use to).

Isaac was a champ and did quite well considering everyone was completely new to him.

Chemo - Week 15

March 10th Update:

Today Isaac had his 15th chemo treatment. This was the last chemo at the university of Iowa. Next week we'll start our weekly treatments at Blanks Children's Hospital in Des Moines. Although we are excited to get to DM, it was bittersweet to leave the awesome staff at Iowa.  Here's Isaac with his 2 favorite nurses Emma and Kim (they've have been so great with Isaac!)

Chemo - Week 14

March 3rd Update:

I'm a little late in posting about Isaac's last week's treatment but it has been one hectic week!!

Anyways IZ received his 14th chemo treatment on Thursday. His blood counts have been pretty good lately which is a huge blessing. You see we are in the midst of moving to Des Moines, so we have a lot on our plate. It's nice to not have to worry about low blood counts with everything else! 😉  Isaac will probably only have 1 more treatment at the U of I before we transfer him to Blanks. We sure will miss the awesome nurses, in particular Emma and Kim, who Isaac has grown close with.  Really hoping they'll be just as great in Des Moines.
