Happy to report that after an 8-hour surgery, Isaac is doing well!
His neurosurgeon believes the surgery was a success and was able to remove all of the new, active portion of his tumor! The original tumor, which has remained stable for the past 12 years, is still there and was intentionally left untouched. But we are so grateful that they were able to accomplish what they set out to do today!
After about nine hours, we finally got to see Isaac! He's still pretty groggy from all the medication, but his funny personality is already shining through when he talks. 😂 It's amazing to see him doing so well after such a big surgery. Praise God!
We also want to thank each and every one of you who prayed for Isaac today, reached out, or checked in on our family. Nick and I have felt so incredibly blessed by the community of believers God has placed in our lives. We both felt an overwhelming sense of peace throughout the day, and we truly believe that was God's hand at work and the result of so many people lifting us up in prayer. We are so thankful. ❤️
We're not quite through everything yet, so we'd appreciate your continued prayers for a smooth recovery. Isaac will spend at least tonight in the ICU, and we anticipate he'll be in the hospital for a few more days.
But for tonight, we're just incredibly grateful. Grateful for his medical team, grateful for how well the surgery went, and grateful to see our boy doing so well.
Praise God for His faithfulness! ❤️
